Project in PCRC:
Herne's research includes experimental work on indirect reciprocity, trust, fairness and impartiality, as well as on voting procedures and preference formation. In these experiments, subjects play dictator, trust and social dilemma games and are rewarded with real incentives. Another series of experiments will use field experiments, where incentives are not provided on the basis of subjects? performance in the experiment. These experiments study the effects of deliberative democracy on individual preference formation, discussion and trust.
