Master's Degree Programmes
In the academic year 2012-2013, the Faculty of Social Sciences offers one Master's Degree Programme taught in English: Master's Degree Programme in Asian Studies.
The Centre for East Asian Studies offers a two-year Master's Degree Programme in Asian Studies. This programme is made available to all master's-level students, both Finnish and international, interested in deepening their knowledge on contemporary East Asia. To this end, the Master's Degree Programme offers systematic training in East Asian Studies, whether your disciplinary background is in social sciences, humanities, education, business studies or law.
In order to complete a Master's Degree Programme, students must attain 120 ECTS credits as defined in the curriculum of the Programme. It usually takes two academic years (academic year is September - May) to complete a Master's degree. There are no tuition fees for degree students in Finnish Universities.
The basic prerequisites for the Programmes taught in English are a university degree equivalent to a Finnish Bachelors degree in the relevant field and a good knowledge of English.
